It's a probability also. But my carset is not modfying track wads, so the problem is up to whoever is updating the tracks...

No that's not my point, a track wad isn't always the cause of a ctd, in fact it's more often than not the fault of the person updating the wad but that still isn't what im getting at.
Try running it with every different setting available.
Also, I dunno if it actually affects the game at all, but I disabled the authentication service in GPxPatch too

Are you running Gp4 1.02? Is your GpxPatch version the latest? If yes, then send me the csm.log file right after the problem happens...

Everyone, please download and install latest carset version. I was going to make it an update, but the majority of the things have been changed so I decided to make it a full new version. I posted this in the first page, but I'll post here again: Remember to delete the old carset folder before installing the new one.
Carsets usually stay in your gpsaves folder.
Also, if you are having any crashing problems, remember to play using different verbosity levels and also make sure your are not running any extra programs at the same time as gp4. Also make sure you have about 1 to 1.5 gb of free space on your hdd. That usually helps. It's dificulty for me to remember this kind of stuf, cause I run an Athlon 64 3000+ with 1gb of ram and a GeForce 6600, so some of the things in the carset are not as optmized as they should be....

Perfect, i'm downloading it and will install tomorrow carefully, after a fresh new gp4 install... should do some check ups and then go for it next saturday I usually go round 1m27 but lets see if at least i can go 1m26 dunno about my teammate but looks like he'll have to use autobraking coz he lacks of practice, haha

I think I know what's hapening...CSM isn't compiling the carset correctly. Something I didn't see coming at all...I'll just zip the carset folder and upload it for now then. I'll try and fix the problem then...

Ok, I was able to compile it succesfully now. It was my mistake to not test the compiled carset before uploading to you guys. It's just I never had that problem before So Anyway, I'm uploading it again atm, and should be ready in 20 mins or so. You guys will use the same download link on the first page. I think csm doesn't like to work correctly when other apps are running and that might have caused the problem. This latest carset was missing important files like the performance file and the gp4tweaker.ini. My guess is that previous carset releases were missing other files that could've been causing the problems. I'm really sorry about it, but at least now we got to the bottom of the problem, finally So again., delete the old folder and install the new carset. I still have to add some of the latest files sent to me though. Didn't have time to sort through them, organize and so on. An update should come after we are finished with the first race. I want everyone using the same version of the carset for the weekend

ok, i've used the car files for each team to build a cars.wad (decompile thru gp4master, add files, recompile...) and inserted the cars.wad into the WSRC carset. this was done by creating a new folder called 'Misc', and then the cars.wad was added to the Misc folder. in the swap.ini file located in the 'settings' folder, i added the line 'File3 =Misc\WSRC_cars.wad, cars.wad'.
it seems to have solved the problem, but i havent discovered what was actually causing the problem in the first place. everything viper did in the 'Cars' folder was correct...i couldnt find a fault with anything he'd done...so why it felt the need to CTD everytime i hit escape (and sometimes even when i didnt) is beyond me.
what i have to do now is sort each team and match relevent files to each team position (such as helmets, performances etc...).
technically, everything in the carset remains the same apart from the car files and the way they are executed.

The only thing that I can see hapening is perhaps CSM not building the wads correctly...it seems to be doing that stuff lately for some wierd reason
