As the season approaches the final parts, rumours are starting to surface around what might happen next year and the latest is about current championship leader, Audi Motorsports. Apparentely, the team is currently considering to leave the series at the end of the year together with driver Diogo Vincenzi. According to a few friends, Vincenzi said that he might want to take a year off and try a different challenge, if he wins this year's championship.
The brazillian however has denied such statements and said: "I have no intentions of leaving the WSRC. If I decide to take a new challenge, it'll be inside the series, and not outside of it." When asked if he would continue to drive, he said he was still considering it. "I'm still thinking whether to continue or not next year. That'll depend more on the Audi folks then me though".
Following his statements, one of the Audi Motorsports directors gave a statement, saying that Audi were working on future plans and won't be leaving the series fully. What that means, no one knows, but one can think that since Audi has two teams, they would probably just keep the Vodafone-Audi team, which would be in accordance with the statement.
We'll be sure to keep you posted on any future developments.

Diogo Vincenzi put some more light on the recent news of the german based team, Audi Mortorsports. He said that a new sponsorship deal might be coming, since the Pioneer sponsorship is still a doubt for next year: "We are still negotiating. Our partnership with Pioneer has been very succesfull this year, but they are still considering if it's worth continuing in the series for them or not. So we are now taking a look at other possible sponsors for next year".
Which sponsors they are talking to is still a mistery, but this is a clear sign that the team won't be leaving the series next year. A news, that must've eased the mind of some people and trouble the mind of others.
Stay tuned for more news...

Audi to decide line-up for 2007 based on driver performances
Continuing the latest news about the Audi team, Vincenzi gave today a statement about next year's lineup, while also putting a lot of rumours down. Read the full statement below:
"For next year, our goal will be to try and keep the current form of the team, and if everything goes as planned this year, we'll also be wanting to defend both titles. To aid us in this goal, we have decided that the lineup for Audi Motorsports next year, will be chosen based on each driver performance this year.
So, we'll be watching carefully on what Dave, Matthew and Adam will be achieving this last few races and form the line-up for next year. I'll still be driving next year at Audi though, so it'll be a matter of picking my team mate.
You'll also be glad to know I think, that Pioneer has signed a new contract, and will be sponsoring the team next year again. We are very glad about this, as it'll give good continuity on our work. We still have a couple more deals in the works which should be announced in the next month."
With this recent set of developments, it's quite clear that Audi will be racing next year in full force, and any conceptions that they might be leaving, are now essentially over.
