You don't know the important bits tho and I'm not as tight lipped as diogo either Neither I ;D I like to share ideas to learn interesting things about racing After all we wont win anything (except a lot of fun) to bring with us in a virtual league A bit off-topic, i know... I've been playing for a Brazilian Championship Manager 01-02 community (An online soccer game), they live in a very competitive manner, and everyone who plays it tends to be a lot biased when it comes to sharing his tactical ideas and game secrets, and theres always a lot of fights between the members (something similar to every Senna vs Schumacher thread)... thats why i've left them and joined WSRC, the GP4 community is a lot better and more friendly

Well, I know this is only for fun, but hey, I wanna win, that's why I keep my mouth shut before the race But after it, I don't mind sharing a bit on it. Still, most of my skill comes from actual driving then setups, which I can't really teach anyone.

(although i have no problems with wets but hey i have spent the last three days developing a dry setup, a last minute rain could ruin my efforts ) EDIT: BTW what kind of controller everyone uses here? I'm using a Microsoft Sidewinder FF Wheel, I have it since 1999 and never had set it properly for GP4

Yeah im using a keyboard, might get a wheel later.
Back to the race at hand, my wings are set at 13, 10. The ride height is lowish around the 26, 46 range. When is using the 7th gear an advantage? Because atm i have it activated but im not really sure wether it's good to have it on or off. In senna's post before it said to have quite stiff springs, what sort of number range am i looking at for 'stiff' ? Atm mine are around the 1000, 800 mark, is that close to where it should be?
Currently im lapping in the 1.14.7xx's and i cannot seem to get anymore spped out of the car. I seem to be losing mammoth amounts of time in sector 2, but dont know what to change to gain spee through there.

I only use 7th to gain extra speed (in theory) down the straights, and at somewhere like Indy, I'd use it to keep the revs down, and speed up (lower fuel consumption)

1:11.936 ;D EDIT: After reading the last years results, that lap could put me in the second slot of the starting grid for that race EDIT2: I was lapping around 1:12.3xx and 1:13.xxx inconsistently 2 days ago and decided to give another go at car setup yesterday... I've softened the springs, and got below to 1:12.3xx... then reduced ride height a little bit more, added more and more packers , reduced ARB's and hit the track again. Guess what? 1:11.936 I've found the right way to enter into the last chicane before the last corner (is it the NGK chicane?) without spinning... just kiss carefully the left kerb and attack the right one before exiting full throttle... it worked like a charm ;D Tonight I want to do some experiments with race fuel and with the dampers to learn how exactly they work... I've learned a lot this week reading that car-setup thread in another forum section here
