Would it not make sense to use rFactor Most people have it now and GP4 seems to be on its last legs Having the WSRC as an rFactor league may also bring in new competitors and imagine how good all the cars will look with the better graphics. Would also mean we would be able to race each other for real, even though it would mean me being at the rear of the field ;D The tracks are much more realistic as are penaltys, real qualifying, warmup, and all the rest of it. Just an idea, dont kill me lol

Well we can run 2 leagues, the one with GP4 we have now, other with rfactor just to test these things.

I think we should run this league, and then a mixed class rfactor league alongside it. So, we could race several mods over a season at a number of different tracks (inc OW's and uber fast tin tops), say 10 races per season, starting in the off season, and any other time when nothing is happening and most, hopefully all rf competitors are free. If we use the V12's and slicks, there'll be no point doing testing cos tbh, the things are ultra powerful already at 1100 bhp, give them anymore and it'll be ridiculous

How do you verify data with rFactor??

you dont need to, you arent allowed to race if the stuff doesnt match up, rfactor has to check it to synchronize the online play

We can't make this an online thing...Way too dificult to pull off.

why not? nothing difficult about it, only slight problem is the time difference between yourself and Matt, but it can be easily sorted

I don't think so. And I would hate to see someone losing the race because they couldn't make it in time. One off events are ok, but do a whole season would be a bit difficult. I wouldn't mind switching the Endurance Event for an rFactor race though, provided I can get my wheel in time...the money I thought I would have ended up being spent on less interesting things

Besides, gp4 is still the way to go for F1 sim. The CTPD mod hardly gets close to gp4 IMO. What Tom said might be possible though, do a small championship, off-season with rFactor...I'd be up for that

What Tom said might be possible though, do a small championship, off-season with rFactor...I'd be up for that CTDP is leagues ahead of GP4, if you've ever been in an open wheeler of any description, you know for a fact that it kicks ass. Alright, some of the physics leave a lot to be desired, but once you're used to it, the things are so fast and just on the right side of unpredictable that it's much more interesting. The graphics help alot with the immersion too, but I'm already bored of racing in F1 cars tbh, with all the tin tops mods in rF giving much closer racing, or the F3 and GP2 mods for that matter, F1 is a bit crap in comparison. At least in F3 and GP2 you run into something that isn't a mclaren or the same car all the time rF is also a big reason I'm losing interest in GP4 tbh, way too predictable, regardless of what tech they had to play with at the time

Nah, Gp4 has tons of advantages over CTPD. Also, rFactor graphics aren't that great imo. I wish someone would make a racing game with UT2007 engine...that would be real graphics. Anything else is just not up to par.
Close racing is too boring. I was watching a Porsche Cup Challenge race the other weekend and damn! Never seen a race more boring than that. F1 is still a lot more exciting for me than any other type of racing.

Obviously the graphics engine can be improved, but lets be honest, here, in comparison, GP4 really is a pile of sh!t with its low res textures. Hell, even the hi-res tracks aren't that impressive, at least rF does something to the textures once they're in game rather than just having them sit there.
How anyone can find close racing boring is beyond me. Watching it, and then doing it are two completely different things
