yet another new team will be lining up on the 2006 WSRC grid in conjunction with latest entry eclipse motorsport. the new team will be known as holden motorsport and will be powered by engines made by general motors, but badged as holdens. the tyre contact is still in the air at this stage, but it is expected the team will sign with bridgestone, due to the successful partnership the tyre company already has with holden. the entire team will be based in adelaide and will operate from premises not far from the holden car manufacturing plant. one thing that is certain however, is that current porsche driver, matt finlay will be driving for the fledging outfit, having announced his imminent withdrawal from team porsche at the end of the season. "it is an excellent opportunity to be part of this new team. i feel very excited about our prospects for 2006. for sure, it is sad to be leaving lonnie and porsche, and i've thoroughly enjoyed my time in america with porsche. i look foward to ending the season on a high note and will continue to give it my all in the races to come". <edit> position is filled
