Ok guys, just to keep things tidy, let's discuss our event here. First, let's focus on rules and then we can worry about car shapes and what not. So first couple of things to be decided are:
1) What track are going to use?
2) How many Kilometers are we going to drive?

My own views are that the track must be one where it isn't very physically and mentally demanding for us otherwise it'll be very hard to run a long distance on it. It also has to be a track where spinning doesn't mean you are out of the race instantly. Of the original Gp4 tracks I'd list these as good options: Malaysia - Sepang Brazil - Interlagos Britain - Silverstone Germany - Hockenheim Belgium - Spa Italy - Monza Japan - Suzuka My personal favorites are Hockenheim and Monza for this type of things. They are tracks that aren't very difficult to master, and offer little chance of crashing, although Monza being shoter would pose a larger challenge. I also point Suzuka as a good option, but I'm biased becouse I just love the track, heh As for the amount of Kilometers, I can hold up anything. I'm thinking though, that for this event it might be a good idea to have AI cars turned on so that we don't get hugely bored.

As long as it is an off-season event, the circuit to receive this event doesnt matter for me

Well i like the idea of an off season race, just to break things up while we are not racing. As for the distance, im not really fused, although i would like the option to save throguthout the race. Just because you might be 80% done and for some reason you have to go out. Not being able to save that would kinda suck balls. As for the track im not really fused, though i would prefer Melbourne, it's a good track IMO. We could even get two or three races happening, with some sort of grid reshuffle after the first race. Like the time difference between the places are then switched to reverse order to offer the slower driver like my some chance of winning of getting a podium. This would also make it a little more interesting and challenging for the second race, trying to run the other drivers down. As for the AI cars, i would stick without them, because after doing the race for a long distance you would get tired and possibly crash into other cars, ruining your race. That's all for me for now.

Of course it's off-season. I'm thinking somewhere around late november, mid december.
Funny, AI cars tend to make me relaxed cause I have a better feel on how I'm doing on pace. Running alone can be quite boring sometimes. Between Melbourne and Suzuka though, I'd rather race at Suzuka...not that fussed about Melbourne to be honest. I like Sepang also.
We could also do two races as you suggested. First one has a qualifying run and then we inverse the grid for the second one and make it shorter too.

I'd prefer Melbourne or Austria really. Monaco would be good because it's so challenging and you'd really have to keep your concentration. It really isn't very hard, I love the place Saving should be allowed, but only when you pit.

I'd prefer Silverstone tbh, it's got more of a mixture of corners

...and would this be with the Engine manufacturers car? Audi Motorsports - Audi A4 (DTM Mod) KDR - Porsche (I think there's one floating around somewhere) Holden Motorsports - Holden Rhino Racing - No idea what engine you use Vodafone Audi - Audi A4 (DTM mod) Raltwest - Honda Integra Viper, Ive spoken to Tony about a A4 template release but he has offered to paint the cars himself so Ive sent him the tex files to see what he can come up with

I am not driving a Porsche I will be driving my own personal Aston Martin V8 Vantage thank you very much Rhino use a Ford engine I believe? Well I have the V8SC ford coming along quite nicely, even though it's an ugly box of a car so you could use that Same for the Holden, they ought to be done by the time we get to this event. As for tracks, I think either Monza, Suzuka or Sepang. Something like a 150% race distance would be pretty good. So for these tracks, that's about 80 laps I think. What would be best for this, is to save after each pistop to a different file. So, you'd do your first stint, save in the pitstop to something like "zep_stint1", then do your second leg, save in that pitstop, third leg etc etc

I'm in agreement with Tom. Monza, Suzuka or Sepang sounds good to me. In special Suzuka or Sepang. Let's not forget btw, that the smaller the track the more laps we'll have to do, and while it'll be the same amount of Kms, it seems less in larges tracks Agreed on the save thing. You can save before each pitstop and that's it. I'm thinking that with a 150% distance everyone will be doing 3 pitstops so it should be ok. And interested to see what Tony will do...I've asked him for a template a long time ago, heh.

I still think Silverstone, or pehaps each team leader could choose a track and we could have an off season mini series

Silverstone could work too I guess. We can decide which track a bit further on. I'm going to write a quick draft on some basic rules and then we can build on that.

Rules Draft
2006 WSR Endurance Race
The event consists of a 400Km distance race on a yet to be chosen track. The grid will be determined by a qualifying session prior to the race.
Qualifying
The qualifying will be run on Free Practice Mode. each drivers needs to submit one hotlap to qualify. The car must be fueled up to the amount to be used at the start of the race. So if your first stint it of 30 laps, you need to qualifying with that amount of fuel. The grid positions will determine a disadvantage for each car yet to be determined for this event.
Race
The 400Km race will be run on quickrace mode without AI Cars (To be decided). The number of pitstops is up to the drivers discretion, but we believe that due to the distance of the race, a minimum of 3 stops will be required so that the car won't become undriveable. Since this a single event, there'll be no points awarded.
Cars The cars to be used will be Touring/Stock cars and each team can determine which model to use. All cars must be able to use a V8/V10 engine on the range of 600 BHP. Slick tyres will be used for the competition in case of a dry weather. Regular wet tyres to be used in case of rain.
