Juha Tanskanen Signs for Holden Motorsport
Source: WSRC News
Holden Motorsport director Matt Finlay today confirmed that Finnish newcomer Juha Tanskanen would fill the second seat alongside Finlay at the German Grand prix at Hockenheim in three weeks time.
Tanskanen also serves as a driver in the F1VWC and has displayed his considerable driving skills in that series, which has caught the attention of Holden Motorsport.
Speaking to the WRSC, Finlay commented, "we're very happy to have signed a driver who has experience in other fields of motorsport and Juha is an accomplished driver who will certainly assist our young team in making the steps it needs to take in order to increase our competitiveness".
Tanskanen replaces Australian Blake Haswell, who was let go by the team after an accident in the first practice session at Indianapolis a few weeks ago. "Unfortunately the relationship between the team and Blake broke down after Indy and both parties agreed that an amicable split was the best way foward. "We do seem to have gone through our fair share of drivers this season, but hopefully that trend will stop and we'd like for Juha to stay with us"
Holden lie third in the WSRC constructors championship with a six point deficit to Raltwest-Honda.
