Both RaltWest drivers suffered a Disqualification for submitting both qualifyfing and race files with bad checksum data.
The reported checksum was 58c1c668
The Checksum should have read d41f4db1
The checksum preorts the they are not using the correct track dats.
The black flag caused the team to lose 4 valuable points for the team.
Given that the team only finished fourth and sixth, should their times be allowed and reinstated for the Australian Race results?

To be honest, this was the first race, we had a lot of problems with the carset till everyone was running it well and without problems. I don't mind the team getting their points for this race. But let it be warned that if it happens again, then we'll enforce the rules completely.

Well it was said here that using original or lampert tracks would be OK, and before that race, i went to lamperts website and downloaded a 2004 Melbourne track, the easiest and quick solution i could find.
Now i've reinstalled the whole game and WSRC Mod, did a lap to test the new settings after this disqualification and it now reports the correct checksum, what says that i'm now using the proper track dat files. I hope everything goes well now...

You can use Lampert's wads. That's not a problem. You just can't replace the dat files inside the carset. Still, I wasn't very clear when answering your questions back then, so my opinion stands...

checksum is just a number that appears on the logfile created by hofxlap, a program we use to open the hotlaps and savegames to check the track time etc. With the carset everybody should have the exact same number in the checksum, that tells us that everyone is using the same dat files for the the tracks. If the checksum comes different, that means the dat files are different and thus could give the driver an advantage, or not of course...

Well in this case was it giving them any sort of an advantage?

We can't know. My take on it though is that he wasn't...and even if he was, it was not expressive enough to kill him from the race...no offense, but it's not like he won the race because of it ;D

Well then my vote will be cast on that information
PS. Do you prefer drivers not to say what result they voted on, or you dont really care?

i would say that on this case, let them keep their results as it appeared to be a bit of an oversight, and i dont think an advantage was gained.
however there's an argument against that which is about fairness...some people may complain that as raltwest used different dat files and escaped penalty, then they can do the same.
so i think if noone objects, then let them keep their points, but if there is an objection then unfortunately they'll have to be disqualified.

I see your point there. I think letting their points in with some penalty sounds like a plan...

I understand both sides of the coin on this matter. As the admin, I verified the files and according to the rules, did as I needed to. But they may not have been aware that their track dats were wrong. So if we penalize them, shall we give them a drive through 12 second penalty, like we did for the Vincenzi ruling?

Yeah that sounds good, but that would not change to outcome of the race (i think) so really in escense it would make any difference. However i understand why your're giving the penalty, so yeah it sound good.

Well it is just a suggestion. It's still up for discussion. so If anyone has a better penatly, to fit the bill. Then by all means, do tell!

I just did some calculations. If we give each Raltwest driver a 12 second penatly, then the order would look like this.
Tom Matthews - 13m13.011s Matt Finlay - 13m14.249s Diogo Vincenzi - 0h13m24.654s Reece Byrne - 13m25.106s Bruno Castelló - 0h13m44.164s Kyle Schreoder - 13m58.075s Falvio Santos - 0h15m22.034s
Schreoder would lose a spot and a single point. Do we want to do this?
