Hello WSRC!!! It certainly has been a while! I just starting remembering all the fun we had. Those were some good times! I never did progress beyond GP4. Family life has been keeping me busy. How is everyone doing?

Another year, still no replies other than myself... and where’s Dave? We’ve lost contact I haven’t been doing any serious simracing since 2013, I’ve been trying to come back to it but actually the games prices and hardware requirements are too much for what my wallet can pay for. I’ve lost interest for rFactor, iRacing, and any other high-end racing title because of that, but I still love GP4 since it is a not very demanding game and the community is still strong doing mods for that game. I currently own a 2013 second-hand retina MacBook Pro, I haven’t done any serious gaming on it yet, but thanks to VMware I can still play GP4 in a virtualized Windows environment and I have been trying to tweak it for more performance. However even that I fail to do because of very low interest at the moment. But I DO WANT TO RACE! If you guys are still around, feel free to find me on Facebook for some nostalgia talks on GP4. I miss the good old days of GP4 championships, its the best racing game ever made, still strong after 20 years. All hail to Geoff Crammond!!

Bruno! Good to hear from you man! Yeah, still kicking around. I've been running a mobile sim racing series with the WSRC. Mostly on facebook. I will update the website sometime soon.
Http:www.wsrc1.com
I've been running Assoluto Racing, but I have also got into King of the Moutain and recently purchased Grid AutoSport. And for F1 I run F1 2016 on my iPad.
I still have a dedicated and old pc laptop running GP4, when times permits.

Hi Lonnie! Good to know you're still OK! These times have been terrible for all of us. Stay safe!
I actually mostly play only Grand Prix 2 on my iPad Pro with the help of an emulator. Just for the nostalgia =)

GP2 on an iPad! What emulator you use!? That's awesome! You'd need a compatible iPad Pro (at least 2nd generation) and a Checkra1n jailbreak to install the app. It's called UTM. This is basically a QEMU frontend for iOS. I can emulate Windows 98 Second Edition and install a few games like GP3, FIFA 99, Flight Simulator 98. You can also install DOSPad from Litchie, which is a DOSBox build ported to iOS. I think UTM is faster than DOSBox, I can play Grand Prix 3 on UTM with a reasonable performance, but DOSPad runs only Grand Prix 2. UTM recently received support for USB, so I think that with an adapter for the iPad Pro lightning connector you can connect an USB steering wheel to play. I haven't tried it myself because I do not have an adapter.

Jut stopping by to say that I got vanilla GP4 running on a M1 MacBook Air 2020. Gets a bit hot, but runs quite fast. Good. All thanks to CrossOver.

Senna. How did you get in running on a Mac? I’m curious because I am thinking of how to do that with my Mac!

Senna. How did you get in running on a Mac? I’m curious because I am thinking of how to do that with my Mac! Hi Saturdaynight! Which Mac do you own? An Intel Mac or a M1 Mac? You can find me on Instagram by @brunocastello , the only place where I still have some form of social networking... I have a M1 MacBook Air (2020) and since it isn't intel, I have to use either CrossOver or Parallels. I chose CrossOver, it just runs Windows games/apps on top of an emulation layer. GP4, GPxPatch, CSM, these things are working just fine but I haven't tested it extensively. Some 90's mods like 1993, 94 and 98, and mostly quickraces only. I just had a few minor issues. Game basically just works fine. My recommendation is to get a Parallels Desktop subscription to install a Windows 10/11 Virtual Machine on it and run the game from it. These Windows installs will be an ARM based version, but these Windows versions do have something like a "translator" for x86 apps/games like GP4. You'll lose a bit of performance but game runs just fine if you tweak it here and there. And Parallels is the only choice with Direct 3D support, anyway. It has been the go to choice for gaming on M1 Macs. If you're on an Intel Mac, chances are you can play it just fine using VMware Fusion Player for a virtual machine and installing x86/64 Windows on it. This one is the free option and its what I was doing until I got a M1 Mac.

I have an intel Mac. I’ve thought about a boot camp partition but never did it.

I have an intel Mac. I’ve thought about a boot camp partition but never did it. Hi! Hmmm, you may want to try a virtual machine. You can do that installing VMware Fusion Player (it's free) and installing Windows 10 Pro. From there it's pretty straightforward as it used to be. A VM is easier and the performance difference from BootCamp is not that big to justify creating a partition for BootCamp. With my previous Intel Mac (2013 MacBook Pro 13" i7 16GB 1TB SSD) I was playing GP4 with a VMware virtual machine running Windows 10 Professional x64. BTW I saw you added me on Instagram, I followed back, but for some reason some Instagram bug is preventing me from messaging you. I'll take a look and see what's happening there. EDIT: Is your instagram app up to date with the latest version?

I tried a VM app once and had difficulty. I will take another look when I get a chance. Thanks Brunno!
