Race Report
Good day and welcome race fans to the 2005 WSRC Spanish Grand Prix. Another beautiful day for racing as we get set for the fifth round of the championship. Durring practice this week, Diogo Vincenzi suffered a bad accident that left him unable to race in this weekend event so our points leader will be out of commission possibly until theMonaco Grand Prix, which is next on the season calender. For this race anyway, here is how they will line up on the grid. Henrique Rocha snatches his fourth pole of the season, followed by teammate Brian Glanville. Dalby gets his best Qualifying results of the year sitting in third place. In fourth and also a personal best of the season, Bolman will finish out the second row. Porsche drivers King followed by Finlay finish up the lineup in row three. Poor Porsche. There worst start to the season! The lights are on as we get set to race here in Barcelona. The green light drops and they're off! It's Rocha, followed by Glanville, Bolman and King slips past Dalby. Finlay is in last place. Lap two, Rocha nearly matches his qualifying run with a 1:15.902. Glanville just two seconds behind. Bolman is closely followed by King and Dalby sits Just a second back with a gap of three and half seconds ahead of Finlay. Lap three, Rocha Leads Glanville by almost four seconds. Bolman and King are separeated by a single second followed by Dalby, two seconds back. Finlay is now four seconds behind Dlaby. Lap four, Rocha leads Glanville by roughly five seconds and Bolman has opened up his lead on King to three seconds who in turn lead Dalby by three seconds. Finlay is six seconds back finshing up the order. Lap five, it's Roacha Follwed by Glanville, five seconds back. Bolman and King hold their pace as Dalby drops to six seconds behind them and Finlay is now seven seconds back from him. It's now lap six and Rocha pulls out more time on Glanville. Bolman gets himself into trouble and that allows both King and Dalby to slip past him. Finlay is only four seconds behind Bolman, now! Lap seven, Rocha is in a commanding lead over teammate Brian Glanvile. Sixteen seconds behind him is King who has a three second lead over Dalby! Bolman is about five seconds back and leads finlay by seven seconds. Lap 8, Rocha is clearly the class of the field today! Glanville Holding his pace while King, seventeen seconds back, leads Dalby by three seconds. Bolman leads finlay by nine seconds. This is actually the tightest race to date if you think about it! No one is really lagging behind like the earlier races. About 44 seconds splits the field from first to sixth! It is lap nine now! Rocha's lead increases to 14 seconds. King is almost twenty seconds behind Glanville and Dalby is closing in on him as King's pace slows a little. Bolman Leads Finlay by 8 seconds. Final lap! Without his rival Vincenzi, racing today, Rocha has a very comfortable finish and brings his drivers title chances back to life after that horrific crash in the San Marino Grand Prix, two weeks ago! Glanville finishes seconds followed by King and Dalby, who finish just two seconds from one another. To finish it up, Bolman and Finlay cross the line.
So the results are as follows:
Rocha 12:39:780 Glanville 12:54:960 King 13:15:758 Dalby 13:17:893 Bolman 13:25:758 Finlay 13:36:832
Fastest laps
Rocha 1:15.793 Glanville 1:16.875 Bolman 1:17.640 Dalby 1:18.734 King 1:18.846 Finlay 1:21.313

Congratulation to Rocha for the victory! I personally want to thank my teammate, Finlay, for being able to compete this weekend. With our finishes, we have amased 9 points for the team! The weekend didn't turn out to bad, for us, afterall! Good tight race everyone! Best performance of the season, by everyone! Dalby, and Bolman, You and I had a great fight today! Such a close finish. between Dalby and myself it was pretty close throughout the race and excellent work from Bolman in the early stages. I was actually a bit nervous when I was compiling the times. For a moment I was seriously thinking I was going to finish in fifth place! Glanville, I've still got a lot of work to do if I'm going to catch you!

Good idea on the crash...I did have a serious crash at one point, I'll see if I can remake it for pics In the meantime, here's a quote from me: "Things were most unfortunate this weekend. When I entered the last corner in one of my practice runs, I accidently hit the grass, and the car went straight in the oposite wall. Not a good moment. It left me with an aching right knee and according to the doctors I would be better off not racing if I wanted to do the next race. Hope I'm more fotunate at Monaco"

The post race press Conference.
WSRC - Welcome gentlemen and congratulations. Rocha, congraulations to the win! How does it feel to come back from the crash in Imola to win in Spain?
WSRC - Glanville, another excellent finish! Team Arrows ran away with this victory! Give us your thoughts?
WSRC - King, becoming a regular in the top three these past couple of races! How does it feel to see Porsche doing so much better then the begining of the season?
King - Well, I am thrilled to be here, albeit, under the sircumstances I'm not sure we fully desrve it. We were outdriven by Team Arrow and with Vincenzi not in the mix it does change things. I'll take anything we can get but I'm a realist and know that this is all a bit of luck for the team. But with nine points scored this weekend, team Porsche does open up a bit of a lead for third in the constructors championship.
WSRC - Rocha, does this victory feel a little less satisfying without your chief rival able to compete?
WSRC - Glanville, It's looking like a bit of a three way battle for the Driver's Championship! Do you think there could be a possible victory for you in the near future?
WSRC - King, You were able to get ahed of Dalby at the start then later, you passed Bolman?
King - Well, it was definately a great battle. One that I look forward to everytime. but I didn't expect to finish where I did, considering my qualifyfing time. Both Bolman and Daldy had fantastic qulifying times. I was afraid I was going to finish this race where I started from, Fifth. I drove a steady race and it was only the misfortunes of others that allowed me to be where I am. When Bolman made that criticle mistake in the middle of the race I just kept my cool and kept driving, though I was always a bit nervous with Dalby right there, the entire time. If I don't keep my head on, one of these days, someone else will capitolize.
WSRC - Glanville, With nine points now separating you and King, in the drivers points, does that make things a bit more comfortable for you?
WSRC - King, Does Porsche, stand a chance of winning a race at all this season?
King - That's a tall order! I'm not expecting a victory per say, given the competetive state of the series, but with that said, that is why we are all here. But in order for the team to get a victory, we first, have to step up or game. I've said this before, that Monza is probably our best bet. That's because from a hystorical standpoint, our times are closer to some of our competitors at that track.
WSRC - Rocha, Team Arrows is flying away with the Constructor points. Your closest rival, team Audi, now 30 points behind! Give us your thoughts on that and your final reflections on todays race.

The post race press Conference. 1 WSRC - Glanville, another excellent finish! Team Arrows ran away with this victory! Give us your thoughts? 2 WSRC - Glanville, It's looking like a bit of a three way battle for the Driver's Championship! Do you think there could be a possible victory for you in the near future? 3 WSRC - Glanville, With nine points now separating you and King, in the drivers points, does that make things a bit more comfortable for you? quote] 1 Well my teammate ran away with the victory. Right now i'm looking at my performance compared to my teammate. Where King, Dalby and Finlay were fighting and ultimately holding each other back, i was able to pull away. But to finish so far behind my teammate is a bad thing for me and something not to be proud of. 2 As i've just said i'm trailing my teammate by more than just points, my performances are just way off the pace of either Diogo or Henrique. They really are talented drivers and have my respect. To be honest i dont see myself challenging for a win, except perhaps Canada. I will be gutted if i dont challenge there! 3 Of course its good to open up points on a rival, but i dont think i'm uncatchable from here. Lonnie is a fantastic driver and is hungry for more points and higher podiums. Hes got a raw sort of pace, which can shine. I'm confident i should be able to hold him back though. The arrows this year is very competitive and my teammate has been a great help to me.

WSRC - Welcome gentlemen and congratulations. Rocha, congratulations to the win! How does it feel to come back from the crash in Imola to win in Spain? Don't know. After I left my car at Imola I thought that my championship hopes were gone and now, well, I win with a kind of big lead. It's hard to explain the way I feel.
WSRC - Rocha, does this victory feel a little less satisfying without your chief rival able to compete? Not at all. It was exactly what I wanted: me scoring 10 points and Vincenzi 0. I guess he also felt the way I do when he won the race at Imola.
WSRC - Rocha, Team Arrows is flying away with the Constructor points. Your closest rival, team Audi, now 30 points behind! Give us your thoughts on that and your final reflections on todays race. Well, I think we deserve such big lead. Brian and me have been working very hard to improve our times. We've never gave up. I crashed at Imola 'cause I was pushing it to the max. As simple as that.
But the race today did surprise me. I knew my car was excellent but, you never expect to win a race in this way knowing that your teammate has exactly the same car. Also the mid-field fights were very exciting. Things are just looking good for the coming race at Monaco.

OK, I fixed it. I also check my Grid Disadvantage chart and I did give you the right amount of points for where you were sitting on the grid. I actually qualified fifth on the grid! I even modified my press conference question as it wouldn't have made sense. So sorry for that mistake. I think the mistake came as I was looking at the finish times rather then the qualifying times when I setup the grid! Qualifying laps Rocha 1:15.879 Glanville 1:16.617 +.1 Dalby 1:17.909 +.2 Bolman 1:18.198 +.3 King 1:18.865 +.4 Finlay 1:21.029 +.5
