I have managed to lower my time a bit, can't say to what though. Although I have had reports from my tyre provider that running the soft compound that I am, I might not be able to compete in the race. Looks like there could be a repeat of last years event for rhino racing. These reports have yet to be finalised but it is looking more and more likely that this will force the young Australian team out of this years event. The only positive out of the situation is that, the team can compete in Qualifying but will have to run at a modifyed top speed and only the one flying lap. Michellin has imformed me that running the enitre race on two sets of tyre could result in a very nasty accident. As the team owner and driver i am not willing to allow this as this could invole hurting myself and/or others drivers close by. Unless Michellin can come up with another alternative over night then i will be seeing you guys in France.

THE RACE Well, I've done my race laps... Had problems with braking at the right point in the right time but I managed to complete the laps... Lets hope for a third place finish, I hated this track... Indianapolis is by far the worst race of the season. Magny Cours might suit my driving style, coz theres long straights with fast corners which is good for me, because I don't go hard on brakes like everyone does Okay, looking forward to France, the "Ralties" cars should try to find again the Imola race pace, where I think that I've done my best race so far Viper, will you change the engine rules for 2007? We'll move to V8's or stick with V10's ?

Bruno: I have to agree on the track, though braking for me was not the problem. My main issue is the middle sector...was not quite able to get it done right. This was the first race that I if I had a wheel I would have done a lot better. As for the engines...what do you mean? Changing engines would mean changing the physics file I guess, or maybe using that V8 modfied gp4.exe too. In a couple of months, I'll be starting a discussion on the rules again for next year...I'm already putting some ideas together, that should make things more interesting. I personally like V10s more. But I was thinking on having slicks on the series again...don't see why stick to only one tyre manufacturer though, since in gp4 it's really only fo aesthetic reasons. I'm keeping bridgestone though...if everyone else wishes to use it too, I don't mind Maybe change Michelin to something else?

BTW, just finished my laps...after a long period of adjusting setup I was able to gain a few more tenths on qualifying. On the race, my pace fell off a few tenths, but within expected range I guess. I ended up having to make 3 full races to be satsfied. I found that hard tyres were giving me better traction, but slowing me down on the first couple of laps while softs had less traction, but were fast right away and would still be ok at the end of the stint. If the stints were longer, I would definately have used the hard compounds.

Good, open a thread to discuss it and i'll put my 2 cents As for the engines, I don't have a solid opinion. I've been watching F1 this weekend and the top speed they have achieved at the end of the back straight in Montreal is more or less 10 kph slower than we are in GP4 Well, changing to V8's would make our series slower, reduce our "feel of speed", but in the other hand, I've noticed in this F1 season that a V8 powered car should be easier to control than V10's =P To be honest, as long as we have powerful and faster cars in the series, like the F1 of the old 90's cars used to be, I'm happy And about the race, meh I dont expect nothing higher than 3rd or 4th place here, mainly because Tom has retired =/ Oh yes, the tyres... I dont mind about them, I was using Michelins before joining the series, but when Michelin said that they'll be out at the end of the season, I decided to move to the "bridgies" Well If they are really going to retire, maybe we should put goodyear, pirelli or dunlop

We'll continue this discussion very soon, on another topic. Back to the race topic, submissions after this time will be considered a late submission and the car will start from the back of the grid. Few participants so far, but I expect to see at least Matt Finlay later on. For now, here's the qualifying times so far: Diogo Vincenzi - 1:07.833 Bruno Castello - 1:07.949 Dave Carr-Smitth - 1:08.586 Adam Rouse - 1:08.599 Flavio Santos - 1:12.997 Expecting a good battle on the race I'm not sure if Matt wants me to make the report though...Matt?

I'll be able to do the report, and my race laps will follow within the next 8 hours assuming I get no CTD's as happened Saturday night. Hopefully I can get the report done then and I can sit down and watch the Australia v Italy match
