Preliminary qualifying results. Any laps sent in now, will be a late submission. Dave Carr-Smith - 1:15.431 Diogo Vincenzi - 1:15.746 Bruno Castello - 1:15.849 Flavio Santos - 1:22.122 Matt, you'll notice that I sent mine about 25 minutes after the deadline. I had my laps done a few hours before though, but I 'passed out' on my bed and ended up forgetting the time, heh. Apply grid penalty as you see fit Dave: Congratulations on the pole position

lol!
Well, it's been submitted after the deadline. So yeah, I think the usual late-penalty would still apply I'm afraid. My laps will be in shortly and then the report will follow soon after. I'm nowhere in this race, but with a qualifying session like that, I'm really looking foward to the results!

Pole? Me? What the hell? I'd also like to point out that I did my race with all cc cars on track, and they were very very fast and suicidal

A Silver Lining for Vincenzi at Silverstone
Audi Motorsport’s Diogo Vincenzi today continues his impressive form by claiming his first win on the British circuit at Silverstone, heading home Raltwest’s Bruno Castello and Vodafone’s Dave Carr-Smith. While the smart money would’ve been on Vincenzi to win this race, Castello, while never actually outright expressing his feelings, was extremely confident of a victory on what is Raltwest’s home circuit.
His confidence extends back to the practice sessions where his car was certainly a pace setter and looked very well balanced around the Northampton circuit. Vincenzi was also portraying a positive outlook and even Dave Carr-Smith was enthusiastic about his chances. Perhaps the only drivers with issues to complain about were KDR’s Tom Matthews and HSV’s Matt Finlay, both of whom were not quite on the pace of the front-runners. Matthew’s troubles soon grew worse as the Englishman suffered a suspension failure through Bridge corner, the car spinning wildly into the gravel trap and executing a series of barrel-rolls. The damage was too severe for Matthews to qualify and his weekend was over.
Rumours then started circulating about a supposed alliance between Vodafone Audi and the works team, with the notion that Vincenzi had allowed Carr-Smith to utilise data obtained from Vincenzi’s car. While upset about this possible exchange of information, Raltwest and Holden eventually declined to submit a protest to the officials. In what amounted to a near perfect lap, Dave Carr-Smith took the pole position, ahead of Castello, and Flavio Santos. Vincenzi would’ve been 3rd, but it was deemed that he held up Castello on the circuit while the Brazilian was on a fast lap. He was demoted to 4th, while Finlay was also penalised for speeding in the pitlane.
When the lights dimmed, Carr-Smith made the perfect getaway, slicing ahead of Castello into Copse corner and opening out a small lead through the Becketts complex. Matt Finlay was able to snatch third with a bold overtaking manouever around the outside of Vincenzi at Copse, and then drafting past Santos on the Hangar straight, Vincenzi following him through, and then dispatching Finlay as the two braked for the Abbey chicane. As the field crossed the line to complete lap one, it was Carr-Smith leading, Castello in second, Vincenzi third, Finlay fourth and Santos fifth. This state of affairs did not last long however. The Audi driver was simply in no mood to sit around behind the two cars in front of him. Catching a tow off the back of Castello, Vincenzi sweeped up the inside of the Raltwest driver through Stowe and then harassing Carr-Smith all the way down the back straight. The Vodafone driver didn’t make it easy though, as Vincenzi moved to the inside, Carr-Smith drifted wide on the exit, but Vincenzi wasn’t having it! Side by side through Bridge and finally Vincenzi was able to slip up the inside into the next corner. Fantastic stuff!
So lap three saw the race stabilise a little, although Carr-Smith was beginning to come under pressure from Castello. Up ahead, Vincenzi gets the entrance to Club corner completely wrong and he has a massive slide, barely being able to catch it. It just showed how hard he was pushing to make a gap in case Castello passed Carr-Smith who seems now to be holding Castello up a little.
Castello’s troubles were over when Carr-Smith made his compulsory pitstop, although the damage had been done, Vincenzi now had a 2 second lead. Lap five saw Santos pit in the second of the Raltwests, and then on lap six, Vincenzi and Castello pitted together, although Vincenzi was able to retain his lead. Castello was able to rejoin ahead of Carr-Smith though, who, while not caught on camera, seemed to have a poor lap. Vincenzi was never seriously challenged as he brought his Audi home, six seconds ahead of Castello. Carr-Smith finished third, Finlay fourth and Santos a distant 5th.
Final Classification:
1. Diogo Vincenzi..............11:54.242 2. Bruno Castello..............11:59.243 3. Dave Carr-Smith...........12:03.947 4. Matt Finlay....................12:12.176 5. Flavio Santos................12:48.378

I could've done a lot better myself in qualifying. But since I ended up missing the deadline, I decided to let it go...Dave's lap reflects how well the car felt for me this time. Much better race then last year TBH. Also, my fastest lap in race was 1:15.969 if I'm mistaken
