"A Maximum of 11 teams can enter the WSRC with no more then 2 drivers."
Well, suppose we have, let's say, 17 teams willing to take part in the World Sim Racing Championship? Are those extra 6 teams going to be prohibited of racing? I don't know what you guys will think of it but, I thought in what could be a solution to this possible problem:
In late 80's / early 90's, there were way more teams competing in Formula 1. In 1989, for example, there were 20 teams and 39 drivers signed in for the Formula 1 World Championship. As the rules said that no more than 26 cars could be on the grid for the race, they used a pre-qualifying system, that is something like this: the 10 best placed teams in the previous year has their place granted on the grid. The remaining teams had to fight for 6 places on the grid in the pre-qualifying sessions.
If a team scored enough points in a race to be in the top 12 (I'm not sure), they had their place granted for the rest of the season as long as another team didn't put them out of the top 12.
Well I thought we could do something like this here. The top x teams (can't think in the exact number) of the previous session would have their place granted on the grid. Any other team would have to fight for the right of taking part in the qualifying and in the race. As the season goes, any team that enters in the top x of that season don't have to take part in the pre-qualifying anymore.
This may sound too complicated but I think that (if this goes into approval), if we plan this better, the pre-qualifying thing could become something quite usual to us.
Your thoughts?
