Holden Motorsport Press release
It has been announced today that Australian Reece Byrne has signed with the Holden Motorsport squad as the team's second driver for the 2006 season. This move has ended weeks of speculation as to who will drive for the new outfit.
Byrne competed in the opening events of the inaugural 2005 WSRC for Team Clownpaint, scoring points finishes with the team.
Team manager Matt Finlay, who is currently finishing his term with Team Porsche said "it's fantastic news that Reece has decided to join us. He drove a couple of great races for his previous employers this season and we're naturally very excited to have his input for the 2006 season which should prove invaluable for our constructors championship campaign".
Reece Byrne was also available for comment saying "I am extremely happy to have been given the opportunity to join Holden Motorsport for the 2006 WSRC. I have large expectation of myself and the team although i realise we are a new outfit so we will need to work very hard in the winter to make sure we can play with the big boys."

WOW, Finlay and Byrne, on the same team! That's a great pair of drivers for the upcoming season. A team I think that could give Team BMW Arrows a good run for the Constructors title next year! Good god, I need to find myself a good driver or Team Porsche is going to be one of the lesser teams! I just realized something! Your whole team is Australian, right?
