Team KDR has announced that it is moving from the UK to France.
KDR, originally based outside Silverstone, have said that "there are a lot of reasons for the move, one of the major ones being for financial purposes."
Driver Tom Matthews said, "Porsche have been having us pay the shipping on their engines, and for something that is that size, costs a lot to haul around so it doesn't get damaged. The move to France means we don't have to have it flown to us, and there is a much lower cost for transport to the new HQ in the Dordogne."
With the move, the Circuit de Nevers is the new testing base for the team.
"The French track is a classic in my opinion, I didn't use to like it very much, but recently it's really grown on me. It's got a fantastic mix of corners to test the car at every extreme, so it's an ideal place to test the car and engines to destruction."
Unfortunately, the move meant that KDR could not complete any testing during the last couple of weeks, and while the other teams have engine upgrades on the way for this weekends GP, KDR are left with their current package.
"Effectively we are on the back foot now. We're at least 10 BHP behind our closest competitors, so we have a huge disadvantage here. It's all down to the car and me now, hopefully we can prove to be up to the challenge this weekend."

Cynics within the HSV squad have their own opinions about the lack of KDR testing.
"you see, its like this" says team manager and number one driver Matt Finlay. "The French are really quite hopeless at well...anything really. We believe that the lack of power the KDR team now have can be attributed to the fact that the newly hired French workforce have been too busy eating their garlic and forgetting to shower. This has led to the performance deficiency KDR will now unfortunately suffer.
We feel tremendously sorry for the British workers who have chosen to move homes to continue working with their team. Not only are they now totally surrounded by smelly, wine guzzling Frenchmen, but the nearest decent nightclub is in Paris, which is nowhere near the Nevers region. There's a reason why it's called Nevers, and that's because people never want to go there".
Rumours claiming the HSV team and affiliated personnel have been banned from ever entering France are unfounded.

I hate Silverstone, I've never had a setup that works there, however, almost all the setups I've tuned for Magny-Cours give me reasonable times at least As for being surrounded by Frenchmen, oh well, cheap beer and wine suits us And who said we'd sacked our workforce
