Aston Martin want to get their hands into the WSRC, and seeing the progress team KDR, they are looking to take the lion's share of the team for the 2007 season.
KDR driver Tom Matthews said: "Yes, Aston Martin are looking at taking 75% of KDR, but they will only be supplying engines and helping to build the chassis, the team will still retain the KDR name and the chassis will still be built predominantly by our engineers."
The news comes only a few weeks after the team moved to France. It is unknown whether the team will remain here, or if they will move back to the UK to stay in better contact with Aston Martin. The move to France was originally planned to keep engine shipping costs down from Porsche.
"It will be a joy to work with Aston Martin next season, after all, with the engines apparently becoming V12's next year, Aston Martin already have a head start. 2007 can't come soon enough."
