Well this is a crying shame. So far, the results here at Monaco have been sumwhat mundane for team Porsche. As a driver, I have no desire to continue on. The team find no reason to continue in a season where we are outclassed by the brightessed in the field. I will find a seat for my teammate Matt Finlay, with another team so that he doesn't miss the race, or at least allow him to compete in the race in the Porsche P05B until another seat can be found for him. I'm making arangements as wel speak. More new to come on this front.
As for me, well my drive is gone. I feel that I must focus more on my personal life right now. I will still stay on as president on the WSRC and continue to keep the series going forward. Maybe a 2006 return is possible but right now things are just in a state of chaos for me.
Sincere regards,
Lonnie King - Team Porsche

Sorry to hear that mate. I was just looking forward to your performance in the coming races. But this is completely understandable. I'm just feeling that the WSRC has entered a downward spiral and will be over before the end of the season.

Yeah, it really looks that way. I think the schedule is just one part of the issue but for me it's a time issue. I just don't have enough free time anymore. It's seems that the testing and racxing is asll I seem to be doing, day in and day out and no time for anything else.

To be honest, i'm not feeling very motivated with this championship anymore. It pains me even to admit that. My reasons are evident just from the announcement section of this forum. There have been soo many withdrawals, retirements and statements of intent to maybe call it a day. Henrique and Diogo have both stated at some stage or another that they might not be able to continue pariticipation or that they arent enjoying it too much.
Hate to be the one to suggest this, but with a rapidly dwindling line up, is there any point in continuing the season? I still enjoy driving it and usually cant wait to see how i finished, but i'm not sure i can be happy if there are only so few of us in the championship.
I would like to continue but i would also like to see firm commitment from the other 5 competitors. If we can get that maybe there is a point in continuing. Everyone please put your honest thoughts up on this thread once and for all so that we know where to go from here.
As regards Lonnie, i totally understand your motivation for leaving. Your contribution to this championship both on and off the track has been outstanding and without your efforts i doubt if even now i'd be writing this post.

Although it still is kind of fun to wait for the results, it makes me unmotivated knowing that there are only 5 or 6 of us racing.

Thanks guys! I will do my best to keep things running until everyone decides they've had enough. Until then, I look forward to the outcome of the rest of the season!

Well, while I don't want to leave, I'm without time too. I ain't doing much today, but tomorrow I have to start studying for a test on friday that'll take all my time away. Hate to say this, but I don't think I'll be racing in monaco. Maybe if we can push the schedule a bit forward I can race, but right now, tiny chance it will happen.
I'm trying to think though in something that would make this more interesting...right now it's a bit boring, don't you guys think??

I wish there was a way to make it more exciting. I would love to stay on but time is just not there for me. There is so much going on in my life right now.
I know we've talked about making changes to the system. Maybe those changes need to come sooner rather then later.
What would you guys feel would be more exciting to see in the events? What really draws you to the championship? What are the negative sides to the season? I think theses are some of the questions we need to ask ourselves.

I may have spoken too soon. Today I'm thinking that I try to stick it out a while longer. Partly, I think I'm being too hard on myself and I don't want to put my teammate through hell. If he wishes to move to a more stable team, I will have no problems with that. Lets go racing at Monaco! I'll have some laps done today at lunchtime!

Well thats good news. Hopefully you can continue to participate in the races too. Its not the same without you. I've submitted some horrendus times for monaco, which i'm sure will reinstate your faith in racing!! Dont think i put one good lap together, and yet in practice i was going around a second or 2 quicker.

Well, my Monaco race didn't go so well as you will see with the results. Anyway, I'm here to endure through some tough crap right now. Can I say something here! [Rant on] When I first set out to have this championship it had a very basic set of rules. I think what has made it more difficult, especially for me, is all the new rules added since. Initially everyone was going to have the same BHP all season long. Everyone would be equal. Then we had to impliment this, "pardon my expression," Stupid skill system which really amounts to a hill of beans! It was going to be simple: You drive you score points Then money and skill points and BHP came into play. It was just suposed to be fun. Now it's become more of a business. I also don't like this weather thing either! I think that was my dumb idea! That's my take on why it's so dull. [rant off] Anyone care to give their thoughts?

What really draws you to the championship? What are the negative sides to the season? I like the competition itself, which is kind of ruined by the number of drivers we are.

Well saturday, i hate to say i told you so but i said this on the simracing thread for the wsrc when we were deciding all these rules. Particularly in relation to driver skill. I would love to see the following things being removed right away: Different team bhps (i havent changed my performance file since the very first one, deliberately because i think its bullsh*t. All this testing crap, its not like we actually are testing any changes made to the aerodynamic package or trying a new style rear view mirror!! Driver skill points - last time i checked, the more you drove the better you got at it. You dont need to be rewarded for finishing in a certain position, the points are enough. Prize money - who are we trying to kid. This isnt real life, this is a game. As regard the weather, i think thats a good idea as it makes things rather spicy!!! Even if it is a bit unfair. I like the grid disadvantage table, it makes sense that you would get punished for a bad quali performance. Please bear with me for a few moments while i explain my views (and i stress my views) on this wsrc. I loved the wsrc site, the post race views of the drivers, the race commentary from saturday, the updates on qualifying, the wsrc preview video (unbelievable, real professional looking especially all my deliberate spins!!) . I loved the driving, and looking at the results and results table. What i would like to see the wsrc running as is as follows: - We all run cars which have the same bhp, no driver skill points, or prize money, also no difference in engines or fuel regardless of make. - There would be no testing or development sessions. - There would be 1 qualifying lap with a grid disadvantage in operation - There would be a 10 lap race, with a 2 place finish position deduction for late submittions. - There would be race commentary, and post race comments from the podium finishers. Basically what i am saying is that we remove the irrelevent crap and leave what everyone on this site loves which is driving in gp4. If we wanted to manage finances we could all go down to my work place and get number crunching! I would also like to see these changes made now, before we lose any more drivers! Sorry if i've been long winded but i was talking from my heart and my head. Little story here, but when i was a kid, me and my two brothers made 3 teams of 2 f1 cars out of lego. We each took a team and made a circuit out of the lego. We then had a system of driving the cars round the circuit, for so many laps, and whoevers car was first won the race. This was a very simple system with very few rules, and no exploitation of those rules. The first season went swimmingly, everyone really enjoyed it. The second season went well, but along came the 3rd, 4th and 5th seasons and there was a marked increase in the way rules were exploitated or brought into conflict. So new rules were made to clarify the old ones or change the old rules. Eventually things became so conviluted and confusing and unenjoyable that we all got bored, p*ssed off and argued about every little move. So the game died out. What was the cause? There were too many rules, and we argued over the interpretation of those rules. The lesson? Where possible, keep things simple, the only place that needs to have a very strict set of rules is the courtroom. And as we see everyday, even those rules are bent and broken to suit peoples needs. I try to keep things simple in my daily working life and it seems to pay off. Feel better now i've had my rant!!!

Whatever works for everyone will be ok with me...those changes are fairly good imo. Let's put BHPs at 900 for everyone
