OK everyone, here is the official German GP thread. First questions as my geogaphy on where the Hockenheimring is is rather poor. What city or town is Hockenheim in? Thanks! A coulpe of days ago, Lex posted this but then removed the thread and I can't remember the city name!

Hmmmm...Hockenheim is in Hockenheim. It is already a city. But weather.com doesn't seem to have specfics for it....Stuttgart is close so we could use that. Won't be totally accurate though...

See, that's what I thought! Hockenheim is the location, but I couldn't find it in Weather.com, just as you said, so I was baffled. Thanks I'll use Stuttgart's weather for the race then!

EEEWWW! Someone is going to hate this! So if we cannot find weather for Hockenhiem, then we are using Stuttgart's weather and it's not pretty...Rain! So for that person who sent me their dry laps because the were going to be away next week, you may want to send me a set of wet laps like I told you too because it's looking like a wet race! Stuttgart

Both of you are wrong. Hockenheim is located on Heidelberg. "Located near the historic city of Heidelberg, the high-speed Hockenheim circuit consists of two very distinct sections. The outer section that runs through the sprawling rain forest combines huge straights with fast chicanes, whilst the technical Stadium section consists almost entirely of slow corners. Originally built as a test track for Mercedes' cars, this is the fastest circuit on the Formula 1 season." Hockenheim circuit's introduction, from F1 Challenge

According to mapquest, Stuttgart is about 74.31miles from Hockenheim and Heidelburg is about 14.65 miles from Hockenheim so it's officially a dry race everyone. Sorry for the confusion! Thanks lex!

Near doesn't mean it's in it. Hockenheim Ring is located on the village of Hockenheim and it's built around a cemetery. This comes from the official Hockenheim website. If they are wrong, then I dunno what else is right in the world. But since Heidelberg is near anyway, it'll do

I was looking at the modfications done to Hockenheim a few years ago, and dude! They completely butchered the circuit! Yuck....

Yeah, I don't like the new circuit at all! It's too short and most of all, it's just not the same!

It's just a matter of getting the most accurate weather we can get and if not perfect, then as close as we can get! Hey, at least we have another dry race. Mid season was almost a washout...pun intended! ;D
