Matt, a troubled weekend for Holden but you came away with a good result here today

its been a terrible week to be honest. testing didnt go the way we'd planned as i suffered a suspension failure after about seven laps. this meant we were unable to develop the car as we would've liked and that put us on the back foot. to finish third here today is a tremendous achievement and something that we could not have anticipated in the lead-up to the event.

Then your battle with Castello and Dave Carr-Smith through-out the race. It provided us with some entertainment!

i'm pleased to hear it entertained you. i must firstly apologise to bruno for my hand gestures...it probably wasn't an ethical thing to do, but i was just so hyped up. it was a good, close battle and prett fair. bruno's car appeared to be a little unstable in the last corner, and he went off on the first lap but we were unable to capitalise. then on, i tried to maximise the pressure on him and see if he would make the same mistake, but he drove well. then my car started losing grip a little bit and dave was able to pass me. we went very aggressive on the setup for this race, and while it delivered much needed speed, it ate the tyres really quickly.

Just before you pitted, we could see on the TV, your team struggling with the refuelling hose. Was there a problem there? thankyou Matt

we were due to pit on lap 5 actually, but for whatever reason, the car didn't burn the fuel as quickly as we thought and i still had 3 laps of fuel left when i pitted on lap 6. during that lap, the team decided to take some fuel out of the refuelling rig so we'd only need 2 laps of fuel to get to the end. i had to pit on lap 6 because as i said before, the tyres were going away.

that last bit was actually true, i didnt have the fuel consumption i thought i would...and looking at the data from the other people's races, everyone had the same issue, most people finishing the race with 4 laps of fuel to spare. i think viper was the only other person who thought as i did and took fuel out as well...
