Read again, that is pretty much EXACTLY what I said I inverted the words web server and rfactor server in my post

I think that's kinda beside the point right now. We haven't even decided yet We need to decide as soon as possible, start to inquiry the drivers in the GPx forums if they want to race in a GP4 or rFactor series, then we have our decision. And no need to mention that Dave and Tom could be back if we had a rfactor series I still love GP4, its a great game, but when it comes to online racing the game is pretty much like FIFA Soccer - Same movements, same physics, same things happen at the same places. Most of the things u do in GP4 are predictable. While in rFactor you have different racing lines, different drivers on-track behaviors, so we have more action packed races, because not everyone is damn consistent like we are in GP4 I wouldnt mind if we keep running a GP4 league, I'd still be racing here, but rfactor seems to be a more interesting, fun and competitive option. And a lot of GP4 players are being addicted to rFactor, so we should follow this new trend, shouldnt we? I have an idea - if we manage to recruit more than 10 or 15 drivers for one of the games (rfactor or GP4) then this will be our choice.

The thing is though, when you want an rFactor server, you need a time to do the race when everybody has some spare time. Holland and Brazil for instance, have a 5 hour difference. This could make things kinda difficult.

Not really, there are leagues with people in the US, Aus and Europe and they all cope fine. All you have to do is find a time that suits everyone, eg, a lot of races take place at about 1pm GMT, thats a good time for europeans, 10:30pm in Aus (adelaide), and what, 10am in Brazil. They're not exactly unsociable times for most people unless you're working. A league a few of my mates race in race at 9:00pm Mondays because most of the people are in Brazil and europe, and this works fine for everyone. Compromise There are hundreds of leagues around, ask them how they cope, and they will say exactly the same thing

I'd rather do races at about 10 am, 11 am or 12 am, sundays or saturdays, I dont care as long as we can have everyone racing together. Problem is to be wake up at this time, since I am a lazy brazilian and I tend to sleep till 1 pm LOL In our survey with possible wsrc 2007 drivers we should ask this, so we can find a good time for everyone.

Well I would prefer to race after 9pm (Adelaide time) because I'm a lazy Australian and I also tend to sleep til 1pm Plus I generally have work or uni commitments during the day. However, its a bit irrelevent at the moment because I dont have rFactor...yet Much as I dont like the idea, GP4 is dying and I think if this series is to continue and prosper, we need to either form an alliance with a bigger GP4 league, or dump GP4 completely in favour of rFactor or something.

See, I've dropped in on GP4 fans that GP4 is going to pot and people like Tony are adamant that "there are so many things coming out, how can it be dying?". The fact is, its an old, unusable, unfriendly engine. The gmotor2 engine is much better, more parameters to control, far superior graphically and if ISI do release full documentation, there will be a LOT more mods flying around in no time at all

I see now that it's all true...the only thing that I don't like in rFactor is the AI, which is still much better for single player in Gp4. But that's off the point. I think rFactor would be the best way to go in leagues anyway, cause it gives a chance for people to race together.

So we are reaching a decision? ;D Well we could take 2 weeks or more to find more drivers or merge with any existent gp4 league to keep the series alive (See Dave's suggestion of VWC). If things dont change, then we can talk about a rfactor league in more depth.

If things dont change, then we can talk about a rfactor league in more depth. Things wont change. I'm about sick of GP4. After four years of it, I think its time for a break, and this is a feeling I've been harbouring for a while now. I've been playing F1C a bit, but the AI is deplorable. Still, I've been outfoxed by it, notably at Imola where I held a 15 second lead on a two stop strategy to Villeneuve's one stop (1998 season). I pitted on lap 26, expecting him to pit in the mid 30's. Nope, the prick didnt pit until lap 41...one lap before my second stop. Race ruined.

Ok, I have F1 Challenge 2000 (and 2002 I think) but I have never played them. Its a long time ago since the last time I played a F1 season in GP4, I am still waiting for my holidays to start one, and once I am started, I can bring it to an end in 2007

I *think* I've said it before, but rF was never primarily for racing offline, it was always designed to be the *best* (the code is miles better than GTR2 for example) online sim. Anyway, cranking up the agression values makes the AI tough as hell, I got wasted at Brno in the protoracers with agression on 45% and strength of 110%
